About studies
A graduate of postgraduate studies obtains the latest, comprehensive knowledge in the field of agricultural production and the functioning of farms under the Common Agricultural Policy, including:
- soil and climatic conditions of plant production, biology of cultivated plants, technologies of soil and plant cultivation (e.g. rotation, cultivars, fertilization, protection, harvesting), basics of horticulture, production and sale of seed material, meadowland;
- breeding rules, basic nutrition and physiology of farm animals;
- basics of phytosanitary and veterinary control;
- new directions in the cultivation of plants (simplification of cultivation, energy crops, precision agriculture, ecological agriculture, new directions in the construction and use of agricultural machines);
- knowledge and skills related to the organization of farms and agricultural accounting;
- possibilities and conditions for obtaining subsidies under the Rural Development Program and direct payments;
- understanding of agricultural law, the basics of agritourism
Knowledge is passed on during lectures and exercises by experienced academic teachers of the Faculty of Agriculture and Biology (with over 100 years of agricultural education tradition) and teachers from other departments of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. Classes are also conducted by employees of the Department of Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The students of the study take field classes at the farms of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Obory and Żelazna, where technologies of cultivation of soil and plants, storage of agricultural crops and animal production (cattle, sheep and poultry farms) on these farms are discussed. Practical aspects of vegetable and fruit growing are discussed in the fields and in the orchard of the Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice. Postgraduate students will also learn about plant production and research issues at the Faculty Experimental Station in Skierniewice.
The studies end with the submission of the diploma thesis and final examination as well as the issuing of a certificate of completion of postgraduate studies.

In accordance with applicable legal regulations, a graduate of postgraduate studies obtains agricultural qualifications, certified by a certificate of graduation, allowing for the purchase of land and applying for funds from EU funds and programs supporting Polish agriculture:
