Invitation
Dear Students of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences
The beginning of studies is often associated with some excitement, but it is also a period of life when we are constantly exposed to many new and difficult challenges. Some of you left your city or country to study and may feel lonely or homesick due to being far away from your loved ones. At the university you are faced with brand new duties, requirements, and a different learning model, you are in a different environment with new colleagues.
All of this can cause a variety of difficult emotions, stress, and some difficult behaviours. How should we react? What to do when you or your friends struggle mentally? Where can you receive some help? And how to deal with mental difficulties?
The answers to these and other questions will be presented during the meeting titled “Difficult behaviors and emotions – what to do and how to deal with them. Mental well-being of students. Disabilities are around us”.
In the program:
1. Mental health of students – common problems and the effect they have on our behavior.
2. When should I be worried about changes in my behavior and my well-being?
3. When can I deal with it by myself and when is it worth asking for help?
4. What should I do when my mood disturbs my studying and makes it more difficult to reach out to my colleagues?
5. How should I react when I notice a change in my friend’s mood and behavior?
6. Preventing mental disorders.
7. Where can I find help, forms of help at SGGW and outside the university.
The meeting will be held on 27 November 2021 at 10.15.
